Economist Esther Banda has urged government not to listen to negative voices that are asserting that the Zambian youths are not ready to form cooperatives for empowerment purposes.
Ms. Banda says the high youth unemployment levels in the country have taught young people to be innovative and they have shown the zeal to get empowered through the formation of cooperatives country-wide.
she says those who are discouraging the issue of cooperatives do not mean well because government cannot afford to empower everyone individually.
Ms. Banda says the youths voted for change and that empowerment schemes under the ministry of small and medium enterprise is one of the fruits they deserve to partake from under the new government.
