The Treatment Advocacy and Literacy Campaign (TALC) has eulogized fourth republican president Rupiah Banda as a pioneer of the HIV/AIDS policy in workplaces and a contributor to the fight against stigma and discrimination.

TALC programmes manager, Clever Chilende says the organisation remembers that it was during the reign of Mr. Banda that stock outs of ARVS were less frequent an indication that he valued the lives of people living with HIV by ensuring the availability of drugs.

Mr. Chilende says Mr. Banda pioneered the introduction of the hiv/aids policy in workplaces which was introduced in all line ministries and embraced people living with HIV thereby contributing to the reduction of stigma and discrimination in workplaces.

He states that talc is saddened by the passing of Mr. Banda at a time when his contribution to challenges around HIV was needed most.
