Mines and minerals development Minister Paul Kabuswe says government is urgently addressing the confusion and safety concerns that have rocked operations at the black mountain in Kitwe.

Mr. Kabuswe tells Q-news that the confusion at the black mountain is being fanned by some disgruntled people who want only themselves to be benefit from the black mountain because they are not in agreement with the all inclusive operating system government has come up with.

He says a grouping of people who used to benefit from the black mountain in a selfish manner previously are not happy that other people have been given access to the slung dump, and have therefore resorted to causing confusion at the site.

Mr. Kabuswe has however, stated that government will not allow any disruption and confusion at the black mountain.

Meanwhile Mr. Kabuswe says government is not considering the suspension of operations at the mining site to address safety concerns.

He says operations will continue even as heightened safety measures are being worked on.

The mines minister adds that safety at the mining site is top on government’s agenda.
