Govt urged to declare a national health crisis

Golden Party Zambia (GPZ) President Jackson Silavwe is urging the new dawn government to declare a national health crisis.

Mr Silavwe says the revelation that government has not been able to procure essential medicines for public health facilities across the Country in the past 6 months is extremely shocking.

In a statement issued to Q-News, Mr. Silavwe says government must initiate emergency procedures to resuscitate the health system.

He states that the public health system must save lives, and not take them away.

Mr. Silavwe’s statement follows the statement by Resident Doctors Association of Zambia (RDAZ) President Dr. Brian Sampa who is quoted saying Zambia’s health system is on the verge of collapsing.
