Samakayi calls for a Uniform Policy in Gold mines

Ruling UPND Mwinilunga Member of Parliament Newton Samakayi has recommended that government should come up with uniform policy measures for all gold mines in the country.

Mr. Samakayi has told QTV News that if the operations at Kasenseli gold mine in Mwinilunga district have been halted, the same should extend to all gold mines in the country.

He has noted that there are a number of gold mines in the country, thus the need to come up with a gold mining policy that will apply to all mines across the country.

Last year, Mines and Minerals Development Minister Paul Kabuswe suspended operations at Kasenseli gold mine in North-Western Province for contravening conditions of its mining and exploration license.
