The Poultry Association of Zambia (PAZ) has attributed price reduction of broiler chickens on the Zambian market to the increase in poultry farmers in the country.

Speaking in an interview with Q-News, PAZ Executive Manager, Dominic Chanda notes that the increasing number of poultry farmers has resulted in supply outstripping demand, thereby resulting in chicken price reduction.

He adds that due to economic constraints in the country, the demand for chicken has continued to reduce.

Mr. Chanda states that in as much as it is a good thing for consumers, this is causing poultry farmers in the country to make losses in their business because the price of feed has not reduced.
