Digital banking and innovation is the future of banking – Melu

ABSA Bank Zambia Plc Chief Executive Officer, Muzinga Melu says digital innovation and creativity is the way to go in the banking industry.

Speaking to Q-news, Ms. Melu stresses that the digitally led agenda reduces the cost of doing business, stating that banks do not have to heavily invest in brick and mortar in order to reach a wider cliental base.

Ms. Melu says in the era of e-governance, the banking sector has to reciprocate by ensuring that it reaches out to the unbanked and provide convenient services digitally.

And Ms. Melu says the banking sector has taken keen interest in pushing the climate change agenda by providing funding to projects aimed at mitigating carbon emissions.
