National Health Insurance Management Authority (NHIMA) Director General James Kapesa says the authority has committed itself to promote equity in discharging it’s mandate of provision of access to sustained and better healthcare to all citizens.

Speaking during the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Chandler Academy  of Governance of Singapore aimed at building capacity through training programs, advisory partnerships and knowledge creation, Mr Kapesa says this is in line with the strategic direction that NHIMA is committed to achieve in the next five years.

Mr Kapesa says NHIMA is hopeful that the partnership will promote productivity enhancement through streamlining and incorporating technology in service delivery.

He adds that the authority is also looking at fostering performance management and good corporate governance in its operations.

Speaking at the same event, Chandler Academy of Governance Dean, Kenneth Sim says the academy is pleased to work with NHIMA in service delivery because it subscribes to the same values.
