A Media and Communications has advised the media to stop dramatizing suicide cases being reported in the country.
John Lengwe, a Lecturer at the Zambia Institute of Mass Communication tells QTV news that the more the media is reporting about people committing suicide, the more people think it is a solution to address their personal problems.
Mr Lengwe has since advised online bloggers, print and broadcast journalists to reduce on reporting about suicide cases, but rather take the front role to educate people on ways to curb suicide thoughts.
He says as agents of change, journalists should find ways in which they can report about such stories without sensationalizing.
