ECO-Bank Zambia stresses the need for rehabilitation centers

ECO-Bank Zambia has stressed the need for rehabilitation centers in the country to be supported to enable them render efficient and effective help to people with various addictions, depression and stress in light of the high numbers of suicide cases being reported in the country.

Speaking when the bank donated K50,000 to Great North Road Academy Rehabilitation Centre ,ECobank Zambia Head of communications, marketing and media,  Glenda Masebe says the bank takes great cognizance of the work that the rehabilitation centre is doing in ensuring that mental health is achieved across all genders.

Ms Masebe states that with the increasing suicide cases being reported in the country, the work of rehabilitation and counseling centres cannot be under-estimated, hence the need for support to be rendered to such institutions.

She says the donation is a contribution from all the women of the bank as part of the international women’s day commemoration tomorrow.

And Great North Road Academy Rehabilitation Centre Manager Precious Posta has advised all those that might be going through depression, drug and alcohol addiction and having suicidal thoughts to seek counseling services and visit rehabilitation centres.

Mrs. Posta has bemoaned that the current ration of men and women seeking counseling and rehabilitation services is 4 to 1in favor of men, hence the need for more people especially women to open up and seek help.
