Vice president Mutale Nalumango says there is no shift in the government’s position on the recruitment of 41, 000 teachers and health personnel this year.

Last month, 800 doctors staged a protest demanding to be recruited, while some teachers yesterday protested demanding to be put on the payroll.

Responding to a question by Pambashe member of parliament Ronald Chitotela during vice president’s question time in parliament today, Mrs. Nalumango says the finance minister did not specify when exactly the recruitment will take place when he presented the 2022 national budget.

Mrs. Nalumango has assured Zambians that the recruitment of the 41, 000 teachers and health personnel will happen within 2022.

she says job creation is one of president Hakainde Hichilema’s administration’s master plan.

The vice president has reaffirmed that both formal and informal jobs will be created by the new dawn government.

And mrs. Nalumango has advised former ministers and opposition patriotic front members who may have hidden stolen money to surrender it to the state.

Responding to UPND Sikongo member of parliament Mayungo Simushi who wanted to know whether the country has enough laws or statutes that can be used to bring members of the executive under the patriotic front administration to account for the atrocities as a collective not as individuals, Mrs. Nalumango says the country has enough laws and statutes that should be followed in pursuing the individuals who may have been part of the atrocities that happened in the previous regime.

The vice president says the new dawn government led by president Hichilema will be governed by the rule of law and that proper investigations must be done before arresting anyone.
