Minister of green economy and environment Collins Nzovu says concerted efforts and leadership in the way natural resources are managed is needed now more than ever to change the current trajectory.

In his speech to special session on the commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the United Nations Environment Programme(UNEP) in Nairobi,Kenya, Mr Nzovu points out that “the nature of the heart of sustainable development report” highlights the fact that human activities have altered 75 percent of the land surfaces,85 percent of the wetlands and 66 percent of its oceans thereby undermining the very foundation for human survival.

He has since called for strong collaborations with member states and UNEP in the implementation of regional initiatives to address challenges brought by climate change.

Mr Nzovu states that Zambia like many other countries is impacted by climate change.
