ICU develops an app to mitigate hacking & money mobile theft

Information and communication university [ICU] has developed an application aimed at mitigating hacking of data electronic gadgets, computers and also help reduce money mobile theft.

I-c-u dean of the school of engineering professor Oliver Silumbe says the application will also help to track stolen phones without going through all the long process.

Prof. Silumbe says with the application on the phone it is easy to locate the phone within an accuracy of one meter even when the device is off.

He adds that the app is also capable of detecting schemers hence protects people’s mobile money.

Speaking during the launch of the app prof. Silumbe has regretted that cyber security services have been  serious matters stating that the researchers have worked how best to curb the vice.

Meanwhile, ICU senior lecturer and an expert in information security and computer forensics engineer Mwashi Matela has called on the government security wings to incorporate private institutions such as the ICU in combating cybercrime.

He further called on government to invest more on cyber security researchers to enhance security of peoples information.
