The Zambia Police Service has warned that it will sternly deal with any individual involved in vandalizing Police infrastructure.

Police spokesperson Rae Hamoonga says the service is deeply concerned with the recent incident of political cadres vandalizing the Nathan Chanda Police Post in Luanshya on the Copperbelt.

Mr. Hamoonga explains that the naming of Police Stations or Posts involves a consultative process with the community and local authorities in some instances, hence the need for those who may have concerns on the names of certain police formations to follow the laid down procedures unlike taking the law into their own hands.

He states that Police stations are places of security and demand high levels of tranquility and respect from all.

Mr Hamoonga has since strongly warned all political cadres to desist from being involved in violent behavior or acts of lawlessness AT POLICE stations.
