Patrols intensified at all toll gates

The lone armed robber who recently shot dead a Police Officer and raped two toll gate cashiers at Kalense toll station in Kasama recently is still at large.

Home Affairs and Internal Security Minister Jack Mwiimbu has told Parliament in a ministerial statement that the manhunt for the bandit who went away with K38,425 cash and property worth K12,288 belonging to the trio is still ongoing.

Mr Mwiimbu says manpower has since been increased and patrols intensified in the toll stations following the incident.

He adds that the two cashiers have since undergone counseling through the Zambia Police Victim Support Unit and deployed to another place.

Mr Mwiimbu adds that Government will take care of the family of the Police officer who was shot dead by the armed criminal.
