Mwangala calls for youth participation in climate change

A 15 year old climate change ambassador Mwangala Maunga has urged young people across the country to get involved in the fight against climate change.

Mwangala who is a grade 11 pupil at Roma girls was the winner of the inaugural 2018 DSTV Africa multi choice cartoon network power puff girls award as the best inventor in the science and technology category after she inverted a solar water purifier for providing water to rural areas.

Speaking to Q news, Mwangala notes that young people are not only victims of climate change but they are also valuable contributors to climate action hence the need for them to take interest in learning about climate change and use the knowledge to advocate for good environmental practices.

Meanwhile Mwangala has pledged to use her award and recognition as an inventor at the international front to be a torch bearer for young people in the community, country and across the continent regards issues of climate change.

She says she is trying to gain as much knowledge as she can on climate change to use to educate her fellow young people and the masses across the country and the continental as a means of creating a positive change.
