The zambia none communicable diseases alliance chairperson Dr. Faston Goma has urged government to come up with a latest strategic plan for non communicable diseases that they will operate on from 2022 to 2026.

Speaking in an interview with q news, Dr. Goma says the country is still operating under  the strategic  plan that was set to run from 2013 to 2016.

He says many people that succumbed to Covid 19 pandemic are those who had  non communicable diseases such as hypertension, diabetes and asthma among others due to lack of having a latest strategic plan  that the ministry of health can use to manage non communicable diseases in the country.

He says setting up a 2022 to 2026 strategic plan will enable the ministry of health to easily attain their goal of eliminating communicable diseases in the country.
