MQHZ expectant that 15% of budget will go to health sector

Medical For Quality Healthcare In Zambia (MQHZ) Is Expectant That At Least 15 Percent Of The 2022 National Budget Will Be Allocated To The Health Sector.

Organisation Executive Director Dr Quince Mwabu Is Disappointed That Zambia’s Health Sector Has In The Recent Past Seen A Reduction In National Expenditure.

Dr Mwabu Notes That In The Last Four Years, For Example, Funding Has Reduced From 16.1% In 2018 To 15. 3% In 2019 And 8.8% In 2020 To  8.7% In 2021.

He States That More Funds Need To Be Allocated To Zambia’s Health Sector To Enable The Ministry Of Heath Procure More Essential Drugs, Recruit Thousands Of Health Workers Next Year And Construct More Clinics And Hospitals Across The Country That Will Ensure For Quality Healthcare For The Citizens.

He Has Since Urged Stressed The Need For Increased Budgetary Allocation To The Health Sector Of Not Less Than 15 Percent While Urging The Ministry Of Health To Budget For Purchase And Maintenance Of Essential Medical Machinery For Distribution To All District Health Facilities In 2022.
