HH justifies pace of appointments

Republican President Hakainde Hichilema has justified his pace of making appointments.

The President says he’s being methodical in his appointments to ensure people not tainted with corruption are appointed.

Speaking when he featured on a special phone-in program on radio Phoenix which was relayed on a number of other radio stations, President Hichilema says he understands the anxieties of the people with regards the appointments, but stressed that patience helps.

President Hichilema says corruption had touched and involved so many people hence the need to be methodical in appointments to avoiding

He says he’s studying and checking people before making appointments.

And President Hichilema says his administration’s fight against corruption will focus on retrieving the looted money and allocating it to where it’s needed most such as the health and education sectors.

He says lessons have been learnt from the Task force on corruption during the Levy Mwanawasa administration were there was little recovery of the money that was plundered.

President Hichilema has reiterated that there will be no sacred cows in the fight against corruption past, present and future.
