30 Italian companies expected to invest in Zambian-Amb Maggiore

Italian Ambassador to Zambia Antonino Maggiore says over 30 Italian companies have expressed interest in investing and partnering with Zambian Small and Medium Enterprises.

Speaking on the sidelines of the Art and Land Forum for Zambia organised the by the Italian Embassy in Lusaka today, Mr MAGGIORE says representatives of the 30 companies have already met with the Foreign Affairs Minister,Stanley Kakubo who was in Italy last week.

Mr. MAGGIORE notes that Zambia has incredible potential to develop small and medium enterprises, hence the interest by more Italian companies to come on board in addition to the 50 companies that have already invested in the country.

He says the Art and Land Forum that has been held is aimed at building synergies among Italian and Zambian SMEs.

And Small and Medium Enterprises Minister Elias Mubanga says government will support the development of small and medium enterprises in order to grow the economy.

Mr. Mubanga says government will create an enabling environment for the private sector to thrive through good business policies.

Meanwhile Green Economy and Environment Minister Collins Nzovu says government wants to see Zambia’s economy develop in a sustainable way.Mr Nzovu has stressed that private public partnerships are key to national development and job creation.
