EU committed to supporting the energy sector

The European Union (EU) has reiterated its commitment to supporting Zambia’s energy sector.

EU Head of Cooperation to Zambia Gianluca Azzoni says the EU has a 360 degrees partnership with Zambia and that the energy sector remains one of the main areas its supports.

Mr. Azzoni says the EU has investment close to K1 billion in several projects aimed at improving electricity supply in rural parts of Zambia.

He says the EU is also helping in the rehabilitation of the Kariba Dam which is supposed to greatly help in the provision of energy services across the country.
