Arrest of Livingstone MP by ACC should serve as Example to other MPs-ZYAFAC

The Zambia Youths Association in the Fight Against Corruption (ZYAFAC) is disappointed that Livingstone Member of Parliament Mathews Jere has been arrested for the offense of abuse of authority of office.

Executive Director Maurice Malambo says his organizations finds it very unfortunate that an MP has found himself entangled in issues of illegal land allocation.

Mr. Malambo states that ZYAFAC hopes that the arrest of Mr. Jere will send a clear message to the elected officials that they need to operate within the confines of the law.

He states that there is also need for the Ministry of Local Government to get to the bottom of the issue of illegal land allocation in the Country.
