ZPPA suspends Budocoro Enterprises, R. Phiri Enterprises

The Zambia Public Procurement Authority (ZPPA) has with immediate effect suspended two companies from participating in public procurement in Zambia.

The suspension of the two companies, Budocoro Enterprises Limited and R. Phiri Enterprises Limited of Lusaka’s Kamwala South and Misisi Compound respectively, is for a period of one year.

ZPPA public relations principal officer John Chipandwe says the two companies have been suspended for conniving to interfere with the participation of other suppliers in the bidding processes.

Mr. Chipandwe states that the suspension is therefore in pursuant to section 66 (b) of the Public Procurement Act which prohibits such interference.

He told QTV News in a statement that with this suspension in force, no public institution will reward Budocoro Enterprises and R. Phiri Enterprises any contracts.

Mr. Chipandwe says the two companies will not be equally engaged  in any other dealings or communication, except with respect to the existing contracts prior the suspension.

He states that the suspension includes any successor in interest which employs or is associated with any partner  and directors of Budocoro Enterprises and R. Phiri Enterprises.
