ART should be used in the fight against GBV-NAC

National Arts Council (NAC), Chairperson, Patrick Samwimbila says Art is one of the mediums that can be used to fight against Gender Based Violence (GBV) through sensitisation.

Mr. Samwimbila has told Q-news that it is the duty of artists to be the mouth piece for the communities and partner with government ministries to sensitise people.

He states that art should not just be seen as entertainment because it is also a medium of spreading vital information.

Mr Simwimbila adds that 2019 being the year of Art, the issue of GBV sensitisation and many other issues will be tackled.

He further states that Artists can be the mouthpiece of government so that they can propagate the national values of respect for one another and respect for every gender.
