UNICAF bemoans low ICT levels in Zambian Universities

The UNICAF University has bemoaned the low levels of Information Communication Technology in education institutions in Zambia.

Vice Chancellor Professor Mpazi Sinjela says there is need for the country to immediately adopt the philosophy of e-learning programmes in a bid to reduce the cost of academic services and management.

Speaking during the open lecture series by UNICAF, Professor Sinjela says e-leaning is gaining great attention in developing countries in Africa.

And Mr. Sinjela has revealed that UNICAF University in Zambia has awarded more than 75 million dollars worth of scholarship and has changed over 12, 000 lives through such scholarship programmes.

Speaking at the same event, retired Teacher, Andy Byers has proposed the need for UNICAF University to consider introducing the course in alternative power generation in order for E-learning to be successful.

And Zambia Centre for Accountancy Studies (ZCAS) Vice Chancellor Professor Mutale Musonda says universities have a crucial role to play in developing the digitally enabled citizens of the future.
