The Nevers Mumba led MMD faction has justified why its leader was invited at a recent meeting three church mother bodies called ahead of the National Dialogue.
Faction spokesperson Cephas Mukuka says the ZCCB, EFZ and the CCZ were on firm ground to have decided to invite Dr. Mumba as a leader of an opposition political party.
In a statement to Q-News Dr. Mukuka says the three church mother bodies are correctly following Court proceedings in which the former ruling party’s leadership is still in contention.
Dr. Mukuka says this explains why the Felix Mutati MMD is now allegedly showing desperation since the said recent meeting called by the three church mother bodies was held.
He alleges that the Felix Mutati MMD is afraid that their status as leaders of the former ruling party will soon be exposed.
Dr. Mukuka says the Felix Mutati group has also realized that it was only the Zambia Center for Interparty Dialogue (ZCID) it found easy to manipulate in recognizing it as the true MMD.
He states that his faction however calls on the ZCCB, EFZ and the CCZ to remain firm and ignore disgruntled individuals who are trying to hijack the long awaited National dialogue.
