Formed alliance is a sign there is no stable party -AVAP

The Anti-Voter Apathy Project (AVAP) says the formation of an alliance ahead of 2021 elections is a sign there is currently no stable opposition political party in Zambia.

Executive Director Richwell Mulwani says his organization does not see any reason why political parties can opt to come together for a particular purpose other than the fact that neither of them is stable.

Mr. Mulwani has told Qfm that in view of the formation of this alliance, the sense that AVAP is getting is that the Country is now falling into mood for the 2021 elections.

He says this mood has been enticed further by the rolling out of the roadmap for activities the Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) will undertake ahead of the elections.

Mr. Mulwani states that besides this political atmosphere, AVAP has taken note that campaigns for the Sesheke Parliamentary by-election will prove to be very expensive for all participating political parties.

He says his organization anticipates political parties to spend more than is usual on campaigns owing to the difficulties in movements the rainy season will create for them.
