MMD doubtful Church should continue leading dialogue

The opposition MMD has questioned the capacity of the Church to continue leading the national dialogue process.

MMD National Secretary Raphael Nakachinda says his party is now wondering whether or not the three church mother bodies comprehend the magnitude of the process they have been tasked to lead.

Mr. Nakachinda states that the recent conduct and attitude of the three church mother bodies has become very challenging for the MMD itself to understand where they stand.

In an interview Mr. Nakachinda has told QTV News that his party is of the view that the attitude being exhibited by the ZCCB, EFZ and the CCZ  is below pur.

Mr. Nakachinda, who is also nominated Member of Parliament and Zambia Center for Interparty Dialogue (ZCID) board member, has urged the three church mother bodies to up their game.

He is advising the ZCCB, the EFZ and the CCZ to realize that they are not in a ping pong game with the ZCID.

Mr. Nakachinda says the three church mother bodies should not therefore be seen to be egoistic  to the extent of claiming that there is presently no agenda for the National Dialogue.

He has cautioned them to be mindful that any attempt to assume a position of authority beyond what is expected of them, with respect their terms of reference, will be a mistake.
