Lungu is a tyrant, Kambwili tells SADC

National Democratic Congress (NDC)party Consultant Chishimba Kambwili has called on SADC members to drop President Edgar Lungu as chairman of the body as he lacks democratic tenets.

Mr. Kambwili has charged that it is not acceptable for a person who leads his country with alleged tyrant tendencies to chair a body that requires one to respect democratic tenets.

Addressing a media briefing in Lusaka Mr. Kambwili also accused President Lungu of being hypocritical whenever he speaks about democracy on SADC forums.

Mr. Kambwili states that the truth of  the matter is that President Lungu’s actions in his own country are that of alleged cruelty and theft.

And  Mr. Kambwili has challenged union leaders not to accept any salary increment below 50 percent in their negotiations.

He says salaries and allowances for civil servants must match the current basic needs requirement.

The NDC party consultant has further challenged religious leaders to not be compromised when giving checks and balances to politicians.

He says his party is aware that there are some pastors in the country who are collecting huge sums of money from government officials which is making them fail to correct those in government.

Meanwhile Mr. Kambwili says he cannot be used to drive the agenda of UPND leader Hakainde Hichilema as is being alleged by some sections of society.

He says the alliance for opposition political parties that has been formed is meant to drive the developmental agenda for the poor Zambians and not the agenda of the UPND.
