Pay Local Contractors and Suppliers of Goods, demands HH

Opposition United Party for National Development leader, Hakainde Hichilema has called on the Patriotic Front government to immediately pay local contractors and suppliers of goods and services as opposed to giving preference to foreign firms.

Mr. Hichilema says he is aware that local contractors and suppliers of goods and services have not been paid their monies for the services rendered to government.

He adds that the PF government must find resources and pay local contractors before many of them lose their properties to banks which they offered as collateral.

Mr. Hichilema has reminded government to give priority to local contractors and ensure that they pay them on time.
