Turkish President Erdogan in Zambia on official visit

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has arrived in Zambia on an official visit.

Mr. Erdogan has been received by President Edgar Lungu at the Kenneth Kaunda international airport.

While at the airport President Erdogan, who is traveling with his wife, was given a presidential gun salute and inspected a guard of honor.

During his visit Mr. Erdogan will exchange views on all aspects of relations between Zambia and Turkey and on regional and international developments with President Lungu.

This is will be during one-to-one and inter-delegation talks.

This visit of the Turkish President has been described as of historical significance as it is the first official visit to Zambia at presidential level.

The visit is therefore expected to enable relations between Turkey and Zambia to further develop and diversify.

It is President Erdogan’s foreign policy priority to establish new ties with emerging economies in Africa.

He has since left Zambia to his home Country.
