The Zambia National Union of Teachers (ZNUT) has instituted investigations into the alleged leakage of Mathematics paper 1 during the ongoing General Certificate of Education exams in Siavonga District.
ZNUT Public Relations Officer, Joe Kasaka has warned that the teachers who will be found wanting will be prosecuted as they are denting the image of the teaching profession.
He has warned teachers to desist from any form of examination malpractices so that pupils obtain genuine results that will reflect their academic capabilities and help them chose professions that they can successfully pursue in life.
Mr Kasaka has further urged teachers to be professional in the manner they are handling the exams.
But Siavonga District Commissioner, Lovemore Kanyama says the reported Grade 12 GCE examination paper leakage in the district should be ignored as it’s nothing but false information.
Mr. Kanyama says there has not been any examination paper leakage in Siavonga.
