Civil Society Constitution Agenda (CiSCA) Chairperson Bishop John Mambo has expressed fear that there will be more voter apathy in the 2021 general election if nothing is done to address the issue of low voter turnout witnessed in the just ended by-elections.

Bishop Mambo has told Q-news that the low turnout is a wakeup call to the Electoral Commission of Zambia to ensure the public is sensitized on the importance of voting.

He has noted the need for serious civic education to make people understand that it’s their democratic right to vote.

Bishop Mambo says the commission should also address the complaints of stakeholders in the electoral process.

He says these are some of the issues the Church should address during the impending dialogue.
