PF-UPND accord will only work with a road map – Chiluba

Centre for Young Leaders in Africa Communications Director, Gerald Chiluba says the PF and UPND peace accord will only work with a clear road map.

Mr Chiluba says the organisation has since taken advantage of the peace accord signed by the two political parties to come up with a road map on how to completely eradicate political violence in the country.

He says CYLA is skeptical that the accord will produce the desired results as it is seemingly a repeat of the same things done in the past, hence their interest to design a road map to ensure that the scourge of violence is eradicated for good.

He however, states that the peace accord is a step in the right direction, noting that without peace, no meaningful development can take place in the country.

Mr Chiluba says the road map will focus mainly on the youths in political parties, noting that the failure of past peace agreements signed has been due to the fact that the youths who themselves are involved in violence have been left out.
