GTAZ Executive Director, Chambuleni Simwinga says his association however, welcomes President Edgar Lungu’s call on the Food Reserve Agency (FRA) to revise its purchasing price.

In an interview with QTV News by telephone, Mr. Simwinga says maize traders are already offering a slightly high price for a 50kg bag of maize than the K65 being offered by the FRA.

And BuyZed Campaign founder, Evans Ngoma has applauded President Lungu for calling on the FRA to revise its maize purchasing price.

Mr. Ngoma says his organization is happy that President Lungu has come to the aid of farmers who could have made loses had they sold their produce at a lower price.

He has told QTV News his organization finds the FRA maize purchasing price of K65 per 50kg bag to be too low compared to the cost of producing maize.
