The Civil Society for Poverty Reduction (CSPR) says Social Protection is key to poverty alleviation, hence the need for stakeholders to promote such interventions.

CSPR Advocacy and Communications Officer, Maxson Nkhoma notes that despite robust annual growth in the recent past, poverty levels in the country remain stubbornly high.

Mr. Nkhoma has told QTV News that social protection is a fundamental human right to the citizens.

He says social protection is also key to reducing inequality in the country.

He has since implored those in authority to prioritize social protection programs.

Mr. Nkhoma is further urging the government to consider increasing the budgetary allocation towards social protection programs in order for the country to continue reducing the high poverty levels.
