CSPR urges govt to adhere to 2019 budget

The Civil Society for Poverty Reduction (CSPR) has called on the government ensure total adherence to the 2019 national budget.

CSPR Executive Director, Patrick Nshindano notes that in the recent past government has continued ignoring its own budget pronouncements which he says is retrogressive to the country’s social and economic development.

Mr Nshindano says there should be total budget adherence if government is to completely alleviate poverty in the country.

He tells Q-News that this should be done by ensuring that all budgetary allocations meant to benefit the poor in the social sector are used for the intended purpose and not otherwise.
