First consignment of ballot papers for the july 26 elections arrive in the country

Ballot papers for the 26 july elections have arrived in the country.

The emirates cargo plane carrying the ballot papers touched down at Kenneth Kaunda international airport at exactly 14:35 hours.

And the opposition UPND and the national democratic congress (NDC) shunned the arrival of the ballots at Kenneth Kunda international airport despite being invited.

Only the ruling patriotic front and the united prosperous and peaceful Zambia were present at airport to witnessed arrival of the ballot papers.

Representatives from ruling PF and the UPPZ described the process as transparent.

UPPZ national elections committee member john Kalwena said he was happy with the process thus far, while pf vice secretary for the elections committee Brian Katunasa said the party is now looking forward to the by-elections.

The first consignment of the ballot paper had sixteen pallets which the second one which is expected in the country tomorrow will comprise eleven palates.
