Govt will cross bridge after pursuing IMF deal fails – Siliya

Government has declined to state what its option will be in an event it fails to seal a financial bailout deal with the International Monetary Fund (IMF).

Chief government spokesperson Dora Siliya says government will cross the bridge when it gets there.

Ms. Siliya, who is also Information and Broadcasting Services Minister, has told QTV News government prefers to wait until such a time sealing a deal with the IMF actually fails.

She says the next meeting of government officials with the IMF is in September this year and therefore the nation should be patient.

Ms. Siliya says government does not want to wishful think.

She states that the Minister of Finance will be giving updates on progress being made on the discussions it is having with the IMF.
