Collected K27.7b tax is indication of self sufficiency – Ngoma

The BuyZed campaign says the ability of the Zambia Revenue Authority (ZRA) to collect K27.7 billion in just six months is an indication Zambia can be self sufficient financially.

Founder Evans Ngoma says his organization believes that with such a collection, government can meet all its domestic obligations without necessarily resorting to borrowing.

Mr. Ngoma says this is why his organization always insists that the Country support its own industries.

In an interview with QTV News Mr. Ngoma says the ripple effects of the Country supporting its industries are immense.

Mr. Ngoma believes that the Zambian government can finance most of the projects being undertaken in the Country without entering into private public partnerships.

He says Zambia has a wide range of natural resources and all that it needs is to encourage investors to focus on value addition.
