The Teaching Council of Zambia has implored teacher employers in the country especially those in the private sector to take advantage of the more than 30,000 unemployed qualified teachers.

Council Spokesperson, Ngoza Malonga has expressed concern with what is obtaining in most schools, where employers are employing unqualified teachers for purposes of cheap labour.

Ms. Malonga says a recent inspection of over twenty private schools by the council revealed that most teachers are not qualified to teach while others are not registered with the Council.

She has since implored parents in the country to take keen interest in checking what kind of learning their children are subjected to in their various schools.
