Government has been called upon to consider exempting farmers who contributed the K400 requirement towards the e-voucher system and did not redeemed their farming inputs from paying another K400 in the coming farming season.

UPND Chairman for Rural Reconstruction and Development, Moono Mapani says it would be day light robbery if the government goes ahead and asks the farmers who never redeemed their inputs in the previous season due to the failure by the State to manage the system well.

Mr. Mapani tells QTV News that the government should exempt these farmers and allow them to redeem inputs without contributing anything.

And Mr Mapani has called on the government to quickly make its position known on the maize floor price so that farmers can look for market elsewhere.
