Foundation for Democratic Process (FODEP) Executive Director, Mweenge Chimfwembe says the 2017 Financial Intelligence Center (FIC) financial trends report should not be ignored.

Mr. Chimfwembe has since called on the government to take action and arrest officials implicated in the Financial Intelligence Centre report.

Mr. Chimfwembe has told Q-news that now that President Edgar Lungu has committed himself in ensuring that all those implicated in the FIC report are brought to book , it is important that the law enforcers move in swiftly and arrest those implicated in the FIC report.

Last Month President Lungu received the Financial Intelligence Centre (FIC) ‘2017 Trends Report on Money Laundering/ Terrorist Financing’ and assured all law enforcement agencies of his full support for the operational autonomy required to attain the highest possible integrity in criminal investigations.

And Mr. Chimfwembe is hopeful that the law enforcers will do its job and arrest officers implicated in the FIC report.
