Nickson Chilangwa visit camp
LUAPULA province Minister Nickson Chilangwa says government is in the process of procuring various equipment aimed at revamping and boosting Kawambwa Tea Company which is being operated by ZAFICCO.
In 2016 government repossessed Kawambwa Tea Company due to the failure by the Zimbabwean investor who had bought the company to operate it for several years, who later abandoned the company.
Mr. Chilangwa told Journalists in Luapula that currently government is in the process of procuring irrigation, blending and packaging equipment that will assist in the production of tea.
He says by June this year, there will be positive and updated information on the progress of the operations at Kawambwa Tea Company.
Mr Chilangwa says government is committed bringing the situation at the company under control and making it viable.
