The opposition National Restoration Party (NAREP) has called on President Edgar Lungu to stop members of defence forces deployed on the streets of Lusaka to stop brutalizing people.

NAREP Spokesperson Bwalya Nondo tells Q News that people perceive that since the defence forces work under instructions, they were instructed to beat up people.

Mr. Nondo says this issue of brutalizing citizens is denting the image of the President.

He says it is important that the president gives the military officers fresh instructions that they are there to only clean the surroundings and not brutalize the people.
