Government has been called upon to immediately disclose to the public how much money and materials have been donated so far towards the cholera fight and by who, as well as how such money and materials have been applied.

PeP Leader Sean Tembo says this will help to ensure that such money and materials are properly accounted for and that there is little room for pilferage or theft by government officials.

Mr. Tembo notes that the tendency by some District Commissioners across the country, to solicit for donations from business houses using “Office of the President” headed letters, as such a practice borders on extortion of business houses by government.

He says those business houses which are willing and able to donate towards the cholera outbreak must be allowed to do so out of their own volition and not being coerced or tacitly intimidated by government.

Mr. Tembo says the PF government must immediately cease and desist from operating like what he has termed as ‘a mafia organization’.
