The Advocates Against Child Abuse and Gender Based Violence has called on the fire arm licensing authorities to stiffen regulations in issuing out fire arm licenses in view of the continued cases of spouses shooting each other after a misunderstanding.

Advocacy Executive Director Bellion Chola has told Qtv News in an interview that his organization is concerned that cases of spouses killing each other using guns have persisted in the country and thus the need for the Zambia police service to be extra careful when issuing out fire arm licenses.

Mr. Chola says it must also worry the police that if people who shoot their spouses do not have licenses then they should find means and ways of ensuring that only licensed people use fire arms.

He recommends that the police should interview as many people as possible before giving fire arm licenses to certain individuals more especially those with temper and bad moods.
