The Road Development Agency has announced the commencement of construction works under the second phase of the L-400 road project at a cost of US$141.1 million.
RDA director communications and corporate affairs Loyce Saili has told Journalists today that the construction works which commenced on 6th June, 2017 will cover 160 kilometers.
Ms Saili says the implementation of the L400 will result in the upgrading of selected roads in Lusaka to bituminous standards and expanding roads to either four or six lanes.
She says currently works on Lumumba road are under by Avic international who have been contracted to implement the L400 second phase project.
Ms Saili says the contractor will then move to Mungwi road once works on Lumumba road have been completed.
She states that the completion of the second phase of the L400 road project will help improve traffic flow on selected roads.
