Female inmates are safe, taken care of – Chato

Zambia Correctional Services Commissioner General Percy Chato says the service is making headways in providing proper sanitary hygiene to female inmates, in the countries correctional services.

Mr. Chato has told QTV News that the female population in the countries correctional services consists 2 percent of the general population, of which government is providing with special needs.

Mr. Chato says the service has gazetted correctional facilities annexed to the male section so that female inmates may have specialized services.

He says through the specialized services provided by female officers, the female inmates are now able to receive proper sanitary hygiene.
