Desire for my retirement will not come to pass – Mumba

MMD faction leader Nevers Mumba has dismissed reports circulating on social media that he has quit active politics.

Dr. Mumba has since accused what he has termed as enemies of the MMD for being behind the circulation of such reports.

He says the desire and wish that he retires from active politics will not come to pass.

In an interview with QTV News, Dr. Mumba says he did not join politics because he was looking for something to do.

Nevers MumbaHe says he joined politics because of the mission he has to ensure Zambia is saved, stating that until this happens, his mission is far from being over.

Dr Mumba has since assured his party members countrywide that he still remains committed to pursuing what he was elected for as MMD president.

And Dr. Mumba says UPND Members of Parliament acted in a mature manner by absenting themselves from Parliament during President Edgar Lungu’s state of the nation address.

He says the MPs did the honorable thing by protesting without causing confusion or damage to property at Parliament.

Dr. Mumba states that the UPND MPs were actually being consistent by absenting themselves from last Friday’s proceedings just as they did the last time President Lungu addressed the House.
